MyMobileMinute - It's Your Minute!

Click for Article ->> Work out quicker the Olympic way – LA Daily News.

Came across this article yesterday … it’s about fitness and how you can get better benefit from a few minutes of exercise repeated a few times throughout the day.

Sound familiar?

www.MyMobileMinute.com, who is MyTherapyNet’s fitness partner, is based on that exact principle.

If you read the article, you may be put off by what they call “intense exercise sessions”.  As soon as I read that, I got on the phone with Michael Carson, America’s Fitness Coach, and the creator of MyMobileMinute for a quick interview:

MTN

Michael, thanks for taking the time for an interview this morning.  As you know, we read about Interval Training in the Associate Press, and we saw the direct connection with MyMobileMinute.

Michael Carson

My pleasure.  Yes, MyMobileMinute incorporates interval training, as well as a few other super exciting principles that all work together to give you the best chance that anyone has ever had at getting into healthy condition.

MTN

The first thought that came to mind for us, was the use of the term “intense exercise sessions”.  I personally do MobileMinute, and I wouldn’t call it “intense” by any means.  Does MobileMinute still qualify as this kind of training with the amazing benefits they describe?

Michael Carson

I want you to do your own due diligence, but absolutely, unequivocably, yes.   The reason for that is that “intense” is perception.  What is “intense” for someone who is not an athlete, probably won’t look or feel intense to that person.  As you and many others have found out, MyMobileMinute is as close to not exercising as exercising will ever get – and I know you’re seeing the same kind of results that you did when you’ve done the gym thing, working out for a couple of hours at a time.

MTN

I certainly am a big fan.  It’s exciting to know that what they describe in this article as the benefits of this kind of exercise is attainable from your www.MyMobileMinute.com service.

Michael Carson

Thank you.  We’ve been around for awhile, and we’ve known the benefits intuitively and in practice.  It’s great to see the science behind it!

MTN

Thank you again for taking the time on a Saturday morning to speak with us.  Have a terrific day.

Mind games as tough as Olympic games – CNN.com

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Here’s an interesting story this morning!  The 2010 Winter Olympics are in full force, and so is the power of suggestion, as it were.

Athletes use every advantage possible to take home the Gold … and it appears that in many cases, the mental edge makes the difference between Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Take the cue from the best of the best – your state of mind, the state of mind you portray, and the state of mind you can influence in others will make the difference between successful and, well, not so successful.

Mind games as tough as Olympic games – CNN.com.

Getting that extra “mental edge” is easy.  Let’s say you have an important business meeting coming up, or you’re experiencing some form of conflict in one of your relationships.  Instead of going in “cold”, get online and take a 15 minute “Emmediate Care” session at www.MyTherapyNet.com’s “Emmediate Care” puts you in touch with a licensed therapist within 5 to 10 minutes.

We’ve heard all sorts of great results from people who use the MyTherapyNet service in this fashion.  Business people reporting increased confidence and improved results, parents finding solutions to parenting issues, husbands impressing their wives by going online at lunch-time to get relationship advice … the list goes on.

The bottom line is that it is finally convenient to go to therapy.  No driving to appointments, no waiting in waiting rooms, no setting aside 3 hours for a 50 minute session.  In fact, consider that you can go online ANYTIME and meet with a therapist, you can get support and assistance for issues that you’ve typically swept under the carpet and ignored, let fester, and become cancerous.  And maybe you don’t need 50 minutes – sometimes a 15 or 25 minute session is what it takes.

Get for yourself the mental edge that will make the difference.  Visit www.MyTherapyNet.com for more information.

Caught the Dr. Phil Show today, the show title was “Repeat Offenders”. Dr. Phil recommends using the MindBody Relaxation Series to curb anxiety and stress. The Relaxation Series was created by Dr. Frank Lawlis and composer Gregori Palumbo.

Dr. Phil has called Dr. Lawlis “the greatest psychologist alive today”. He is Dr. Phil’s Mentor and the chair of his Advisory Board. Dr. Lawlis is also the Supervisory Pscyhologist for America Mensa – the high-IQ society.

Gregori Palumbo is one of the leading figures in the field of music therapy and a graduate of the world renown Juilliard School. Palumbo uses audio and musical techniques that have been demonstrated to increase learning retention and induce a state of clinical relaxation.

Learning the skills that lead to clinical relaxation help reduce blood pressure, heart rate, it increases productivity, reduces wrinkles and frown lines and helps prevent illness – both minor and catastrophic.

Using Imagery as “Self Help”

MindBody Sleep Series

MindBody Weight Wellness Series

My personal view is that there is no substitute for therapy – we personally are not able to see ourselves with the clarity, expertise and knowledge that a professional mental healthcare provider is trained to do.

It is always a great idea to go in for a “check up” whenever you are confronted with a significant conflict or challenge. Sometimes it is probably a good idea to go in for the seemingly insignificant ones as well! Therapy or counseling (I’ll talk about the differences in a later posting) is healing and growing on a mental level. If you start with the mind, the physical follows. It is simply a good practice to make sure that you start with good mental perspective as you pursue any of your life goals.

All that said, we work with the best healthcare professionals in the world. One of them, Dr. Frank Lawlis, has been called by Dr. Phil “the greatest psychologist alive today”. Dr. Frank’s MindBody Series uses something called “Imagery” to help you easily create new habits that naturally lead to succeeding at your goals. Those goals can be weight related, stress related, getting to sleep easily at night … imagery has been shown time and again to be the most effective (and happily, the easiest) way to creating the results we want in life.

So, although not intended to replace therapy, Dr. Frank’s MindBody Series is a terrific tool for you to use to create a new approach to getting what you really want in life.

Online Therapy and the Military

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

It is so heartwarming to see that Congress finally mandated that the Department of Defense make Online Therapy available to military personnel.

MyTherapyNet is working with HealthNet to provide secure mental health services via the internet to military personnel under the TriCare health plan. Members and Providers log in at https://www.mytherapynet.com/hnfs/, the MyTherapyNet / HealthNet Federal Services portal.

Military personnel have a difficult time accessing conventional face-to-face therapy. The most common reason is that they are uncomfortable going in person to a clinic for fear there may be negative career repercussions. The other commonly cited reason is that often there simply is no access to a therapist – especially for personnel stationed in remote areas – and most military bases are intentionally in remote areas.

Online Therapy provides access to mental health services no matter where the person may be. We see there is still a ways to go before our solution is fully implemented, but we are so very pleased to see that the government has taken this significant step in the right direction.

If you are in the military or an immediate family member, and you wish to learn more about our HealthNet / MyTherapyNet Online Therapy Program, feel free to email us at customerservice@mytherapynet.com.

Is Online Therapy for You?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

You’re running late all the time. You’re just shy of over-loaded and over-committed. You’re stressed and depressed. You hate being seen walking into a shrink’s office. You are too ashamed to tell your deepest and darkest secrets to a therapist in person. You live in a rural community and there either isn’t a therapist for hundreds of miles, or there is one, and he or she is someone you and everyone else in town knows.

Online Therapy was once thought of as a passing fancy – it is now available to military personnel through Health Net and MyTherapyNet.

Online Therapy may be the right choice for you if you simply don’t feel like you can make an appointment in person, but you know that you (and perhaps your friends and loved ones) would benefit if you did.

Try it. Online, you have the choice of thousands of therapists. Try a couple of therapists before choosing the best fit for you.

If you’re like the thousands of people already using Online Counseling – you’re probably going to like it …

Welcome to MyTherapyNet.com

Monday, February 15th, 2010

This is the MyTherapyNet.com Blog – a place where you may access the latest information regarding Online Therapy.

In this first post, we are going to answer a few basic questions about Online Therapy.

The first question that everyone seems to have is “what is Online Therapy?”  Online Therapy is almost exactly what it sounds like – mental healthcare appointments that take place via the internet.

Appointments take place using chat (instant messaging), audio, or webcam video conferencing.

Online Therapy is effective when used with a licensed professional utilizing a secure conferencing platform.

Advantages begin with convenience.  You can meet with a therapist from wherever you may be, as long as you have a computer and internet connection.

Using the internet to meet means that people who do not have physical access to a therapist can see one Online.  This makes services available to people who are homebound and those who live in rural areas.

Online Therapy is a great alternative for people who feel stigmatized by going to a therapist’s physical office.  It can serve as a bridge to getting help for those people who are too busy or too self-conscious to go in person.  It is especially empowering for those who suffer from shame-based issues.

Online Therapy may not be for everyone, but it may be for you.  If you are like the vast majority of all people, there is something going on in your life that can benefit from the help of a therapist.  Whether it is a relationship issue, a career choice, a health issue, stress, depression, or a self esteem issue, therapy can help and Online Therapy can help while providing you with the greatest amount of convenience, flexibility and choice possible.
